[Geoserver-users] GWC Disk Quota Accuracy

Hello,

I'm trying to use the disk quota function that comes with GWC to make sure my cache partition never fills up, but I find that the disk usage picked up by GWC is quite far off from the actual disk usage. For example, a layer has about 8.7GB worth of cache images, but on the UI GWC thinks only 5.25GB is used. Has anyone else experienced this? Could this be a bug?

Thanks,
Danny

Hi,

There was a bug in GWC that was provoking a similar issue but it was fixed in GWC 1.9.x (GeoServer 2.9.x).

Which version of GeoServer are you using ?
Did you do any manual changes to the files system tiles directory ?
Did you notice this difference after some specific action, like a seed or truncate ?

Another important debug step would be to check in the disk quota database (by default an H2 database is used) the size reported for each layer, style and grid combination and compare it with the file system size and see if this issue is particular to any specific layer, grid or style.
