Hello,
Do Geoserver permits to import and view ENC with this standards, S63, S57 and S52?
I have read that Envitia Geospatial Viewers permits, with Geoserver, to read ENC Maps.
Do you confirm it to me?
Thankyou very much

That would be a question best put to Envitia.

Hello,

Typically official sources for ENC can only be found in a encrypted form. Last time we worked on nautical charts rendering with GeoServer we add to use proprietary licenses to be able to render and decrypt the data.

So, is it possible to visualize ENC data using vanilla GeoServer out of the box ? As far as I know the answer is no.

Could ENC data be visualized trough GeoServer with some development work and the correct licenses ? The answer is yes, of curse this also depends on your specific use case.

Regards,

Nuno Oliveira

The problem is building an SLD that can convert the raw data into the chart
your user is expecting.

Might take a look at

symbols to use.

Hello, thankyou for your tips
One problem is the absence of maps for the area of my interest, Angola.
Who has the maps just encrypted, (S-63 format).
I do not care to modify them, just visualize them and overlay other layers
with Geoserver.

gdal provides s57 support (http://www.gdal.org/drv_s57.html) but it's not
enabled by default (http://docs.geoserver.org/stable/en/user/data/raster/
gdal.html) as for visualisation, you can create any symbol you want,
s52-compliant or not, but it's not in the box. s63 encryption/decryption of
enc's is not available.
You best bet is to contract a party to develop this for you and use
un-encrypetd enc's

Have a look at https://www.iho.int/mtg_docs/enc/enc_prod/S-57-FAQ.htm#Q3 to
see ideas as to where to find the symbology of S57

How could I decrypt a enc s-63?
You need a decryption library, for S-63 it is based on blowfish and SHA-1
(see https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/S-63_(encryption_standard) for more
detail) - it is unlikly any opensource project will have the access to
write a dycryptor for this.
